Hi, I am Ms. Cam and I am a Team Coordinator at GCDC. I grew up primarily in Anne Arundel County, MD. In my free time I enjoy hanging out with my younger sister, cooking new recipes, reading, and going on hiking adventures! My favorite children’s book to read is Green, Eggs, and Ham by Dr. Seuss. As an educator, I believe that it is always beneficial for teachers to channel their inner child to provide enthusiastic energy and create a fun and exciting environment for the children.
I graduated from UMBC with a Psychology B.A. and I am currently attending Bowie State University to obtain my Master’s Degree in School Psychology. Since high school, I have always had a strong interest in working in a childcare educational environment. I have some experience working with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I have a strong interest in working with children of all ages and emphasizing the importance of equity while providing a quality education to all children, including children with disabilities. I worked as a Preschool teacher with 4-year olds and delivered developmentally appropriate lessons that focused cognitive, social and emotional learning for the students. I love listening to the ideas and interests of young minds and incorporating them into the lessons to encourage and motivate them to learn!
I am excited to be a part of the GCDC family and contributing to the overall well-being of young children. I believe that as teachers devote their time to teaching young kids, they also learn from the children as well. I am proud to continue on my path as an educator as I grow and learn and apply and implement the knowledge of best teaching practices into the classroom!
