My name is Breeze Cofield.  I am from Detroit, MI but relocated to the Maryland in December of 2020. Arriving to a new area in the middle of a pandemic was not the easiest process but when I stumbled across a job at a military childcare facility, I was given the opportunity to learn just how important it is to cultivate the minds of the future generation. While working in military childcare, I worked with infants for a year and spent another year working with children 12-24 months. Being provided with the opportunity to balance the schedule of multiple children at one time taught me the importance of prioritizing my time and remaining calm. Working with pre-toddlers taught me that structure is extremely important and that children must have a healthy balance between play and discipline.

Since I began working with young children, strong relationships with parents have been one of the most important aspects of my classroom environment. In order to truly understand the balance of a child, it’s important that both teachers and parents remain in constant communication. I believe that with collaboration, every child can reach their greatest potential.

In my spare time, I practice mindfulness through activities such as journaling and taking long walks with my dog. I enjoy spending time outside in the cooler months and anywhere water is present. I also enjoy going to the beach, trying new foods, and anything related to travel.

I am excited to be apart of the GCDC team and look forward to playing a part in advancing the minds of our future generation.
